Dallow Road
Project
SHF Property Investments LLP commissioned Origin to evaluate the site accessibility and the car parking requirements for a residential development comprising of approximately 200 flats and 125 allocated car parking spaces on Dallow Road, Luton, Bedfordshire.
The Technical Note was prepared in order to demonstrate that the development site is situated in a sustainable location and, therefore, a reduced number of car parking spaces in comparison to the current policy requirements would not be detrimental to the surrounding highway network.
A comprehensive study was carried out to identify the pedestrian and cycling links to local amenities and facilities, including education, employment, health, leisure, public parks, post offices, pharmacy, retail facilities and supermarkets.
The analysis helped to establish that the majority of destinations were within the preferred maximum range according to the IHT guidelines set out in 'Providing for Journeys on Foot'.
