Highway Capacity

Capacity assessments are typically a key component of a Transport Assessment. 

 

Different industry standard computer software is used for junction modelling, depending on the type of junction being assessed.

 

As a guide the following software packages are generally used;

• Junctions 10 PICADY Module (TRL) for major/minor priority junctions

• Junctions 10 ARCADY Module (TRL) for mini and larger non signalised roundabouts

• LINSIG (JCT) for signalised junctions

• LINSIG (JCT) or TRANSYT (TRL) for linked signalised junctions and small networks
